Therapy for Adults (Individual)

Psychotherapy is a form of healing, that works within the context of a relationship, it provides you with a safe place to explore what is troubling you, process difficult emotions, make sense of what is troubling you, and master life skills to flourish.

Couples Therapy

Couples counselling allows you to set aside time to sit down with a trained professional and talk about what's working well in your relationship and what isn’t great. Couples come to counselling for many different reasons.

Family Therapy

Families come in all kinds of different shapes and sizes; and all families, whatever their shape or size, face rough times sometimes. Family therapy helps you to set aside time to talk through the difficulties you are having, repair broken relationships, grieve those who you have lost and move towards the hopes and dreams that you have for your family.

For many years I worked in the public sector offering therapeutic support to individuals, and their families, with mild to severe mental health and addiction challenges. I served a diverse population from many different walks of life and have found that we all share the common experience of being human. I have been privileged to share their journeys and to be part of their story of healing.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. Perhaps you are considering therapy so that you can connect with someone non-judgmental and outside your personal support system. You want to explore meaning and purpose in your life. You may be feeling anxious or worried about what’s happening to you personally or find yourself withdrawing from others and no longer find joy in things that brought you pleasure. Or it may be that substance use or a habitual behaviour is getting in the way of meaningful relationships and meeting life’s challenges. Our time together would be spent uncovering some of the less desirable patterns of thought, feelings and behaviours related to any of these life areas. We will endeavour to understand these patterns and I will support you on taking steps towards more desirable thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches to support you on your journey including dialectical behavioural therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, internal family systems, emotion focused therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, harm-reduction, brief solution focused therapy and the triphasic model of trauma therapy.

If you are interested in working together, please connect with me.

I am a practicum student/intern at The Story Isn’t Over, I offer therapy sessions to children, teens and adults. My specialty lies in helping individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, body issues, trauma and grief. Seeking support for your mental health is a difficult task. I am here to provide you with a safe, supportive environment where you can work on overcoming these challenges.

Past experiences have taught me that many individuals simply want someone to journey with them during their challenges and struggles. I strive to be that person who can journey with my clients along their difficult pathway as they move from a place of difficulty to a place of hope. My goal is to meet clients where they are in life with compassion and without judgment and help them to live their best life despite their hardships. Life can be difficult to navigate sometimes but I believe that everyone is able to improve their well-being through developing resilience and positive coping mechanisms.

I previously obtained an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Toronto where I focused on Neuroscience. I completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Autism and Behavioral Science from George Brown College where I participated in two field placements at autism clinics.

I am currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in the United States. I also volunteer as a Crisis Responder with the Kids Help Phone. My goal Post-Masters is to become registered with the CRPO and eventually complete my doctoral degree in counseling and psychotherapy. I always thought my passion was to become a medical doctor but after re-examining my goals, I found that my heart and passion lay in the mental health field.
